Founder and Chief instructor
Genelle Gaudinez is the founder and chief instructor of Legends Academy of Martial Arts. After earning her black belt in Taekwondo under Master Ernie Reyes, Sr., she went on to study under the legendary Guro Dan Inosanto. She began her Muay Thai journey at the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts over 20 years ago and is now a Senior Instructor / Ajarn (master instructor) in the World Thai Boxing Association (WBTA) under Ajarn Chai Sirisute.
Genelle also trained extensively under Ajarn Bryan Popejoy and taught Muay Thai classes at the renowned Boxing Works gym. Under her guidance, the Muay Thai program at UCLA grew from a recreational class to a program with Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced levels and 60 students (and a waitlist!) in each class. Several students also achieved ranking in the WTBA.
At the Inosanto Academy, she also earned her black belt in Kali / Filipino Martial arts, black Ikat in Maphilindo Silat, and instructorships in Kali and Jeet Kune Do under Guro Dan Inosanto. Here on the East Coast, Genelle currently trains with Tuhon Apolo Ladra in his ground-breaking iKali curriculum.
From West Coast Taekwondo to the Inosanto Academy, Genelle has extensive experience teaching children. Her masterful approach to kids translates directly into clear and concise instruction for adults.
Genelle gained over 35 years of black belt and master level training and teaching experience in multiple martial arts by teaching private lessons and group classes in local schools and prominent martial arts academies. As a result, she has taught specialty seminars both domestically and internationally. We are grateful to have her expertise here at Legends Academy of Martial Arts!
